Nilsiän reitin suojeluyhdistys ry suojelee Nilsiä reitin vesiä, jotta vedet olisivat taas puhtaita ja kalaisia. Palautetaan reitille vaelluskalat.
Mitä teemme
Nilsiän reitin suojeluyhdistyksen tavoitteena on kunnostaa ja suojella reitin virtavesiä, jotta niihin saadaan palautettua elinvoimainen ja lisääntyvä taimenkanta.

Yhdistyksemme Historiaa
”Voimalaitosten muodossa tapahtunut vesirakentaminen tuhosi Nilsiän reitin noin 20 kosken taimenten kutualueet. Ennen voimalaitospatoja reitti oli erinomainen taimen- ja siikavesi monine koskineen. Nilsiän reitti on edelleenkin alueen merkittävä virtavesialue, johon tulee useita sivuhaaroja, mutta monia näistä rasittaa suo- ja metsäojituksesta sekä polttoturvekentiltä tuleva vesi, joka happamoittaa virtavesiä. ”
